Hello!! Welcome to the fourth culture roundup!! Coming to you live from Saturday Night aka April Fools! Fun fact I had no idea it was April 1, so I fell for all of the jokster marketing campaigns including Equinox and Earthrise Studio. Also, I opened my windows all day since it was so nice out and closed them once I left for the night, but just returend home to a massive bug! grrr. I killed it with clorox and now it's just dead on my floor. :( Anyway, read on for a fully serious review of my Saturday night adventures!

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que -- 5/5 **would definitely go for a 2nd time in the same month. #love #Gowanus

Since moving to Park Slope, I've been aggressively keeping an eye out for cafes, restaurants, and shops near my apartment and saving them in Google Maps. Tonight, I had plans with my friend Katri to hang out with her and her friends at this shuffleboard bar in Gowanus (imagine going bowling with friends, but instead of bowling you shuffle board -- it was fun in the same way bowling is fun!). Attached is a video of Katri dancing before her turn. Also, this older man was watching us and recording us play which was so weird.  I think he was just way too into the game…

Anyway, on the walk to shuffleboard I was saving so many restaurants, but one that really stuck out to me was Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. I told Katri about it when I got to the bar and she was so stoked and hungry to go that we ditched her friends and went to get some yummy food at the bbq spot!

This place was so freaking tasty!! It was classic bbq in NYC. So much space, so many people, such good vibes. Loads of meat, corn bread, mac n' cheese!! They had it all!! We got there at 8:30pm so didn't get a full feast, but shared 2 sliders (1 pork + 1 beef), mac n' cheese and corn bread and left plotting for our next time to go and all the people we wanted to take with us!!

They have locations all around the country and was even ranked as the country’s Number One BBQ on Good Morning America!! The founding of it is so fun too. The founder John "began his career in cooking out on the open road. In 1983, John and two partners started the business by cutting a 55 gallon drum in half to form a makeshift barbeque and hit the road—catering to motorcycle shows, fairs, and festivals up and down the east coast. In 1988, tired of the gypsy lifestyle, Stage decided to settle in Syracuse, NY, where he opened his first Dinosaur Bar-B-Que restaurant." Yes I pulled these sentences directly from their website: dinosaurbarbque.com.

I loved this restaurant so much and think we should go as a team! It's definitely a spot to go in a massive group and order so much food!! I can't wait to go again!

Love, Jana <3
